Feng Shui Friday

Creating a welcoming front door and entry, according to Feng Shui, encourages the good energy to flow from which all opportunities enter the home (see Feng Shui March 1, 2019). To encourage positive Feng Shui your front door should open into the entry, allowing the forward motion of Chi into the home. The entry or foyer is a transition from the outdoors to indoors. Feng Shui philosophy says this space is meant to safeguard the force of energy entering the house.

A well-balanced entry includes all five Elements of nature; Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Consider defining the entry with an area rug, a console table or wall mounted shelf, a bench/small chair, a mirror and a fabulous light fixture. Just remember the mirror needs to be hung on the side walls, not across from the entry door otherwise you’ll be sending the good energy back out the front door. A perfectly position mirror will reflect light and objects of interest, allow these items to be hints of who you are which will set the tone for the rest of the house.
